Did this get missed or sweep under the rug?

Interesting. I had heard that about the AR but hadn't heard about the other two hand guns or about the confrontation he had at the school some days prior.

I wouldn't say it's being swept under the rug, but stories that don't help the Gun Ban on the AR won't ever get much press. It's sad that the press pays more attention to one specific weapon right or wrong when these tragedies happen and so little is done to commemorate those who lost their lives.

This is a good example of why we need to regulate the media.  They are far too dangerous in their current state and the framers of the constitution could have never imagined them using magical boxes to broadcast around the world the way they do today.

There's been a lot of conflicting information out there as to what weapons were used and which ones were left in the car.  I frequent a lot of gun forums as well and most people still don't know which ones were used, and frankly don't care.  An individual can do just as much damage with a rifle, a bomb, a pistol, or a machete.

For clarification, I believe this video aired on 12/15 which was before the ME came out and said everyone was shot by the rifle and statements by the local police saying the rifle was used in the shootings.  There was a lot of conflicting info that came out early.

However, I've never seen a conclusive statement recently that clears it all up which is why there's a lot of conspiracy theories going around the interwebs.

No...this has been making the rounds. Information that was played on the 15th is now being held up for conspiracy nuts. NBC already has taken it down, yet it continues to be posted on the web as some proof of a cover up.

There are wack jobs out there proposing SH was a "false flag" incident to push gun legislation. Either entirely made up... or the favorite amongst the tin foil hat club is Lanza was a patsy. And yes... those people do not need access to guns, but more access to proper medication.
