So our programs kick out weird strings of numbers. I am wondering if anyone can help me figure out how to paste this string in a certain manner.

For example, here is a value I paste

4 10-18-13 13-4953 O 021635 00 N 05 206902.46 99 H

I want to be able to paste it and have each of them paste into their own column so I can easily copy the 9th column (206902.46) if I want to.

Is this possible?

You can use the Data-Text to Columns function to separate numbers. It looks like you might be able to use spaces to select the separations.

Copy your text in to a cell.  Click "Data", then "Text to Columns".  Choose delimited, and then select space as one of your delimiters.

ETA: That guy types faster than me.

Ditto what the others said.  Text import does the exact same thing, but the "text to columns" is a little easier because it does it inline.

The next response is:  If you're regularly pasting values into an Excel sheet... learn some VBA and automate your process.

I don't actually. We have 2 proprietary software programs. "Old school" and the newer version. Old school gives awful outputs and is a giant PIA. Thankfully I only use it once a month or so.
