Subject: cycling shorts for century ride
can anyone give me a direction to go with cycling shorts, im planning on doing a century ride this fall. i currently just ride in regular shorts an have no issues, but will need something for the longer rides. thanks for any advice, its greatly appreciated.

I prefer bib shorts over regular cycling shorts myself, they help keep everything in place and not shifting around.  

I'm currently a fan of the Louis Garneau stuff, prior to that it was De Soto.

Cycling shorts are padded to various degrees, and it would seem that the greater the padding, the better the comfort. Personally, I find a short withLESS padding to be more comfortable, especially on longer rides. Also, look at lublubricant for the hidden parts. I prefer Body Gluide.

thanks guys, im leaning towards either scott endurance or pearl izumi elite or pro. no idea if its the right decision but time will tell i guess

I've got a Pearl Pro bib, and previously had an Elite bib. Both have survived multiple seasons. You can get by on the Elite level, but the extra money will buy you more comfort.
