That was interesting to read. Thanks for sharing the article! I sometimes get cramps but my wife never gets them. I'll have to talk to her about the "cramp threshold" discussed in this article.

I tried it all.
Without fail I cramp after the swim when I start on the bike
Mile 13 on full IM runs.
During a swim workout if I ran on that day before the swim at any time. Run before work, swim at lunch.
Sometimes randomly at night during peak training volume.

HotShot - https://amzn.to/2nCmHMU- is the only product that has worked for me.
Hydrate, bananas, extra potassium pills, salt.. nothing else worked.
HotShot focuses their research on the electrical impulses... as much as any of the other research out there.

I can take it proactively and it stops my typical cramping.
I can take it during cramps and the subside within 5 minutes.

I get cramps a lot post-workout and in the middle of the night when I'm really training hard. For me, this product works wonders. It's a small tablet you let dissolve under your tongue. For me, BOOM, almost instant relief.

Interesting read - but amazing how totally different methods work for different people as well!

Have tried loads of things, but I have found that Magnesium spray does the trick for me overall. I used to try supplements, but topical mg has a higher absorption rate and I wanted something that was helping address the cause. This IRONMAN product has helped and since using it regularly I've noticed a decrease in frequency and intensity of cramping. Worth considering if other methods havent worked and you prefer an all natural alternative https://www.bexters.com.au/pages/magnesium
