Subject: Polar RS200 files

Are there any other programs out there (other than the Polar Web Link) which will read the beeps from the watch and make sence of them?

Idealy I would want them in my log, rather than going to the Polar log.  I would also be happy if I could get them into excel?

Any help would be appreciated, I have tried google with little success.

 Thanks

PC Coach is the software that originally came with the audio Polars.  There may be a trial version to download.

The research I've done around this shows that this would have to be reverse engineered, which can be incredibly time consuming. Polar hasn't released an API to their software which would allow software developers to create ways to export the data.

From what I've read, PC coach does support the RS200. It also will record the "lap" info which the PolarRunningCoach does not (unless they've updated it). I was seriously looking into the RS200, but decided against it, so I don't have any personal experience with it, but I did do alot of research.

Unfortunately, with the PolarRunningCoach service, you cannot get the data off of their web server.

Marma, Polar does have  the ".hrm" format for the files. I have it somewhere and if you want it, let me know.

Also, I stumbled across a Linux app which reads in various IR based Polar HRMs and generates a .hrm file. I actually stole come code and hacked a version to read a Polar E600 (Phys Ed model) I got on ebay for cheap, so I do have some experience with the raw data of these devices.  If you want I could help get some decoder routines for you, but the testing effort would have to be huge.

Thanks for the replies...

I found this little command line app that does exactly what I want.

 http://rs200-decoder.sourceforge.net/

It reads the "beeps" and outputs in several formats including CSV, XML and others.  It has no connection to the polar software at all, which imho is a good thing.

I created a little database that runs the command and extracts the bits of data I want and puts it in a format that I can paste into my bt log, while storing the whole file in the dbase for future ref.
