I am sure that this has been covered..but how do we get photos in our training log. I have tried putting them on the internet and cutting and pasting the URL but all I get is the red x.  Thanks for any help.

You need the Rich Text Editor to do so. It's available to everyone, there's no restrictions on which membership types can access it.

  • Go to your Control Panel
  • About halfway down the page find the setting labelled "Use rich edit box when composing messages?"
  • Set it to "TinyMCE Editor'

This gives you a toolbar in your blog, the training log Goals sections and in the forums . If you've ever wondered how people create tables and do fancy formatting here, this is how. On the toolbar is a button that looks like so: . Click this image and enter the url of the image you want to display. Note that the image already has to be somewhere on the web, there's no upload function. Lots of people store images in their albums here or on a site like http://www.imageshack.us.

I think I have done everything that you have said - but I will try again - I will post again if I have problems. Thanks.

marmaddady,

What timing I was just going to do a seach on this.  All I get is a red X for the pix, I've done the above.  Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong too.  I'm trying to post a pix that is in my albums.

BTW my selections states "TinyMCE Editor (experimental)"

DRM,

It sounds like you're using the url displayed in your browser's navigation bar for the image address. That's actually the url for the page that's holding the image. To get the url for the image, right click on the image and select "Copy Image Location" in Firefox or in Internet Explorer select "Properties" and then the value next to "Address".

I went to my Control Panel, but I don't have "Use rich edit box when composing messages."  Could it be named something else?  Thanks.

Sorry I missed this,

It is labeled "TinyMCE - experimental" in the dropdown.

Make sure you are in the regular control panel at:
