It seems to be a theme.  A guy in Florida, a triathlete, jumped into a bayou and saved a little girl from a submerged car.  Joe, Freeswimmingfish, rescued a kid while on vacation a few weeks ago.

Thanks!

"I didn't do anything any of y'all wouldn't have done in the same situation. I just happened to be in the right situation at the right time."

The river was overflowing and VERY fast that day (in fact, there was a tubing ban all weekend!!). We had been jumping in and floating all day when we noticed an 11 year old boy got push into the Guadalupe on a small raft from the camp upstream, nobody noticed he was gone. He ended up hitting a tree (the river was about 10-12 ft above the bank, the trees were in the water), another man tried to get him but could not fight the current. I jumped in and swam upstream a few feet, just as I got to him, the water turned him upside down....I reached down and grabbed him by his shoulder while I hung to the tree with my other hand and pulled him up and out of the water. Thank GOD he was not injured. I walked him back to his camp, his parents did not even know he was gone!!! My son was witness to it all and was right there with me, he would have jumped in to help if I had not told him to wait on shore. It was a good day for all of us to be alive!

So, after that, Zack (my 11 year old) and I jumped into the fast moving river and floated (carried) back to our camp......
