Welcome to the Tour De France,

Your team line up for this year is:

antti asu

ceildh

daijoubou

kendallwebb

kimk

oweiss

pole_dancer

Selachophobia

trisprintolympic

zachkoe

On paper this is the strongest team in the peloton including previous winners Alberto Contador and Lance Armstrong suported by Levi Leipheimer and Andreas Kloden, both who have also stood on the TDF podium. They are filled o the brim with other amazing cycling talent such as uber support riders Haimar Zubeldia and Yaroslav Popovych.

The team has been surrounded by speculation this year with financial troubles and the recent talk of a line up change for next year. But if the team works as a cohesive unit they may just be unstoppable on the roads of France.

Just a quick reminder that the challenge rules are posted in the original sign up thread but if there are any queries please let me know!

Also... the one rule I need to remind you about is NO posting of information from the live Tour De France in team threads until AT LEAST 24 hours after it has occurred. This is to allow people to watch repeats or time delayed coverage without having their viewing destroyed by knowing the end result!

Have a great July... no doubt I will pop in occassionally.

Hey everyone!! I have a small goal in terms of stages, but a big goal for total time (for me at least!) and I'm sure the TdF will encourage me to stick with it. GO ASTANA!!

Hello team.  My goal is 14 rides for a total of 500 miles.  I did a race this morning, the Davis, CA 4th of July Crit.  Unfortunately was involved in a crash but was able to get back up and get a couple more laps in before getting called of the race.  Pretty unfortunate as I felt pretty good and was in a good position in the top third of the pack.  13 rides and 490 miles to go....

Good luck everyone!

Hello team!  I'm thrilled that I get to be on the Astana team this year!  Now I just need to find one of the faded jerseys from the Giro.

Anybody know where we can go ahead and post are sessions. It was a tough one. Actuall it was my longest ride ever. I know not very far but i am trying to get longer distance and 12 sessions at 23 miles in a month i feel will get me better. Just hope i don't tire down. Go Astana!!

Ugh... I had a ride scheduled for this morning, but my parents are making an unexpected visit now and I've had to cancel on the group ride. That's okay though, I'll get it in tomorrow! I'm 100% on challenges so far and I'm not going to slip now.

Happy cycling, everyone!

Hey team. Happy 5th of July! I have 9 stages at 400 minutes planned. Kinda light but I am traveling some this month and won't be able to bike while I am gone. I have a ride planned today if I don't get lazy. It is good to see folks I haven't met yet on the team and a couple I do.
Go Astana!

Flats are NOT fun. I have the hardest time changing tires. Got my first ride in yesterday and I am intending on one today, too.
I will get one tomorrow for sure, then on Wednesday, I am gone camping until Monday. I cannot wait!

I'm pretty quick with flats.  I put this one off until after work though.  I was a little disgusted that it happened so close to work.  The front end washed out as I pulled into the underground parking...  A great way to get my adrenaline going for a Monday morning.

Yep, that'll get your motor running. I fear flats. I have no strength in my hands due to rheumatoid arthritis I have searched for tools that help but really, to no avail.

Ok, cycling teamies, I need some advice!

Check out this bike: http://windsor.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-sports-bikes-NEW-Womans-Kestrel-RT700-Bike-W0QQAdIdZ140373792

It seems like an incredible deal, no? And this bike was very highly rated and well-reviewed when it was launched in 2007. So is it too good to be true? Or why would there be a never-ridden 2 (or 3) year old bike for sale asking only $700 when they retailed $3-4K?

I purchased my road bike from a (I'll put it nicely) pudgy kid who got it for Christmas a year before. It was a fantastic buy. He never road it and had no idea of its worth. He just wanted an x-box instead. This deal could be as good as it looks.

I managed to get my first ride of the tour in! It was great, one of the first days Maine has seen sun in a long while. I managed to get lost and get attacked by a gopher. Couldn't of been much better!

Keep up the good work everyone!

Boo hoo hoo!! Cry My too-good-to-be-true bike deal was a scam. I got an email back telling me that he was in Spain and the bike was in Vancouver and I needed to send him all my contact info so that he could have the bike shipped via MoneyBookers. Oh well. Should have known better.

I still have yet to ride! I was supposed to go last night but life got in the way. Today is a sure bet.
