Hey guys!

I wondered if any of you use or have used Infinit Nutrition.  I'm not finding solids easy to handle on the bike and I know that I can't handle solids on the run.  I need to figure this out before IMC and not sure which product to use.

Hey there. Go to the Canadian site and take the interview. That will set up everything for you. The questionaire does a good job of setting the calories, electrolytes and protein depending on sweat rates, body size and the type of racing you are doing. The goal is to have one drink that tastes like you want and has all the calories and electrolyte so you can eliminate all of the solids, salt pills and gels. Most of our customers are doing full IM distance and longer on just their custom formulation.

Any questions just ask Darcy, he is outside of Winsor and does a great job. He has done many IM's so he will be able to answer any questions that you have. He also set up the program for the Canadian Olympic team, (INFINIT will be in Bejing).

Feel free to fire some questions here if you want.

Thanks for the replies, guys!

Do you need to have two formulas to train with?  One formula for the shorter training sessions and the IM formula for the long sessions?  I thought the questionnaire was a good way to see what I need to race the longer ones with.

That is a great question. I normally have most of my AG's that I work with (and Pro's) set up with two fomulas.

One, an endurance mix. This is your "go to" mix. Works for training and also the bike on the long course stuff.
Long disctance carb blend (higher % of maltodextrin).
Higher calories
3-4 gms of protein (not much but enough to keep you from getting hungry)

Second, a run/sprint mix.
Same flavor level
Short distance blend for carbs. This increases the % of glucose and lets it clear you gut quicker durring higher HR conditions like sprints or the run for long distance tri's.
10% less calories
NO PROTEIN
This is the formula to add caffeine if you want.

These two formulas cover 99% of the racing and training that you could do.

Awesome info, Michael!

So...to clarify(because I can be that thick sometimes ), I would use the run/sprint mix for the training sessions up to about two hours or on the IMC run course and the endurance mix for the long bike portion of training and racing? Do I have newbie stamped on my forehead?

I also use Infinit and LOVE it!! I used the questionaire last year for my half-iron formula and it worked really well (I did Osoyoos last year). This year I changed it a bit and so far my training rides have responded even better to the new formula. Mine has protein as I will be using it only for the bike portions of my races and course supplied stuff for the run.

BIG thumbs up to Infinit!!

No, maybe a temporary tatoo.

I really like the protein mix for most everything. It just works and is a little more substantial for training. There is some research showing that adding a little protein shortening recovery times.

You will get the hang of the system very quickly. I know it may be a little daunting at first, but trust your gut. You know what your body needs and reacts to. You know your bodies needs better than anybody.

I save the non protein for running and the real high heart rate stuff.
