I am looking to do this tri as my first one. Has anyone done this one and if so any comments.

it is a great race, pretty flat and fast.  if it is your first, you will love it.  there are also some slots open for the tri series, next weekend is the second, and one more in august.

Did it last year along with the other informal tri's that they put on. War at the Shore is timed and has both long and short options. Great sprint event.

Just signed up this race this morning!!  This is my first triathlon season (loving it so far!), and this will be my third race.  I go back and forth between being excited and nervous about the ocean swim.  For anyone who's done this race before - what's the water temp like in September?

My tri club sponsors this race and the previous sprint tris as well. In general the ocean temperature in September will be warm, as warm as it is now.There is always a chance a west wind will blow and the surface water will be replaced by cooler water but that is rare.Enjoy the race!

just signed up - me for long and son rob for short . . .my first ocean triathlon.  might do practice one in august and hopefully at least 1 ocean mile in interim, bob
