Subject: RE: Running shoes for the trail...i've used new balance trail runners with success. regular running shoes have, in general, much more support though. i used my regular trainers for my 1/2 marathon trail run last year. muddy, rocky, slick conditions, but i was fine. that said, there is a benefit to having trail runners in the winter, since they tend to be more waterproof. i have yaks trax on my old trail runners and use those on icy days. you might consider getting some trail runners for winter and sloppy trail running, but some regular shoes for dry trail? best of luck finding some shoes. |
