Subject: RE: So bummed.....I had a race earlier this year where I was experimenting with some new tires. I had a great swim, came out of the water about 1oth overall, was working my way up on the bike and was sitting third overall with an average bike speed of 26.1 on my computer- by far my fastest bike split at about 30 kilometers of a 40 kilometer bike leg of the year. Very fast course, flat, loops, no wind. Just hauling. I hit something... it gashed the side of my tire. It was the first time in over 250 triathlons that I had flatted a tubular tire. Of course, like a dimwit- I had no spare. Game over.
That sucked.
I feel your pain my friend.
The only thing you can do is get back on the horse and race again soon. Then, carry with the energy generated by the frustration of not finishing this time due to something largely beyond your control. That will carry you through the next race.
Best of luck My Friend.
