Master  2233    Mechanicsburg, PA |  Subject: Norm knows Triathlon, but a little off on his geography...I was reading the interview with Hawaii champ Norman on Inside Triathlon's website today and I was surprised that he said he was going to Mallorca for training - in the CANARY ISLANDS??? Um, sorry, but Mallorca is in the Balearic Islands... The Canary Islands are on the OTHER side of Spain (actually, closer to Morocco)... Ugh, sorry to rant, but how freaking hard is geography anyway? Or maybe it's a touchy subject because my family roots are from Menorca... Hmmm....  Maybe he was thinking of IM Lanzarote? Lanzarote is in the Canary Islands. Yeah, that's it. Sorry, should have been Normann (with two n's)... ? It just surprised me that a German wouldn't know where Mallorca is. It's like the official warm weather haven for the whole country. It would be like me saying "I'm excited to dive the Pacific Ocean, that's why I booked a trip to Maine." Honest mistake I guess, but it just surprised me.
