Subject: RE: buying 1st wetsuit ?First thing I did, I watched the video on here about wetsuits, part 1. I ordered my first wetsuit two weeks ago and used it last Saturday. I went to trisports.com (where we get a 15% discount if you are a BT perf. member and free shipping) and used their wetsuit finder. It put me in a Nineteen brand. I went to Nineteen's website, read more about them, read some independent online reviews (including some from BT), and decided to buy the Nineteen Pipeline for $212 shipped. I weigh 145lbs. The first one that I ordered was a women's medium. It came on a Tuesday, my race was on Saturday. ( I know, I know...). I could NOT wrestle that thing on over my butt! I felt like Shamu and the Michelin Man all in one! OMG- it was horrible!! I prompty called trisports and the very nice man sent me a women's large. It came on Thurs. It took some effort getting it on, but after watching videos on you tube (I typed in triathlon wetsuits) for instructions, I realized that my suit fit the way it was supposed to. I raced in it on Saturday and the suit was great. Hubby raced in a Nineteen Tsunami. He loved his! I know many say you just have to try them on and see what will work best for you. My only choice was online because I'm over an an hour away from any kind of tri store. I am happy with the process/route that I took. My suit will last me many years! Good luck!! |
