Subject: RE: Motor City Triathlon - Olympic Distance : Official ThreadIN!!! I don't care if there is pewp floating past me... Anyhow, I've done this the past few years. - 2 transition areas. Unload your T2 stuff then ride your bike a mile north to the beach, where you set up T1. Make sure to bring a bad big enough to fit your wetsuit, et al, because they truck this stuff to T2 once everyone is out of the swim. Once you get to the beach, drop your stuff and stand in the line for marking/chipping, THEN set up your bike stuff. Trust me on this. - The Olympic is four FULL loops of the island. So, you exit T1, ride PAST the fountain and around the island. Once you pass the fountain, that's loop 1. Many people somehow count the stretch from the beach to the fountain as 1 lap?? Also, as you're coming around the south side by the fountain, make sure to get into the correct lane. You may get sprinters turning in front of you at the last minute. Those are the main things to remember. They had port-o issues last year (they didn't show up at the beach before the start ), but Kenny SEEMS like he was all over it. That was the main problem. This is also a Greyhound supported race, so you'll see many of us there. |
