Not really a race, but hey.... anyone else doing STP? We're doing it in one day and leaving from down Kirkland to avoid the nuttiness that is UW to Renton or so till things thin out a bit.

I did my last big ride before STP yesteday, 4 hours hard and hilly to cap off the time in saddle action needed for that haul!

I'm not doing it this year, but 2 of my good friends are. Good luck and have a blast! It will be quite the accomplishment.

I am going to do this next summer--try some new stuff, longer events, etc.  I am looking forward to hearing how it goes for you!  Good luck out there!

i did it last year - two days though.  it was fun, but the coordination was kind of a pain.  it is pretty crazy how many people are out there. . i must have said 'on your left' 2000 times each day! we passed so many people, it was ridiculous.  be careful and watch out for the guys who don't know how to ride in a paceline and put everyone at risk. . .

My husband and brother in law are doing it again (they also did it last year - the heat was brutal).   I'm doing "support" which means meeting them at the Great Wolf Lodge halfway and hitting the waterpark.

I did it a few years back and swore to never do it again... mostly due to the crowds and how crazy the ad hoc pace lines get. This year we'll have about 5 or 7 riders in our little group, all doing it in one day. Should be fun, starting from Kirkland to avoid the UW craziness.

I have never done it though it is on my To Do list.

A friend here at work has ridden it the last...7 years, at least I think...anyway he is an RN w/extra emergency training so he always rides as an authorized ride Medic, free entry, all the goodies, and not a ton of work usually though he does have to carry the nice big first aid kit.

STP was great this year!!! It was my 4th year. I had 6 friends with me!

2 out of our group had never done a century before but they made it and had a great time! Saturday was HOT but Sunday was overcast it was perfect riding weather. We only had 3 flats and no crashes - so overall I am very happy.

It always surprises me that people will do the STP and then say they will never do it again. I usually find those people are either very competitive or very skilled riders who are trying to PR or just haul *&^ and they complain about "all the people". The STP is a TOUR NOT A RACE. So chillax and have fun, and don't run over Grandma on her recumbent!
