Subject: RE: Drafting at the HiVee tri championship?ITU "championships" are all draft legal. They also always have those platform swim starts. I think the NBColympics website has several tris on there from last year if the site is still up. They had a lot of ITU events on there. I noticed that it's a completely different game. The fast runners have the best advantage without a doubt because they can slipstream the whole swim, suck wheel the whole ride, and then blast everyone with their run. It's not worse, just different. Laura Bennett who finished 14th at the Hyvee this time and 4th at the Beijing olympics is originaly from here and her whole family (father and 12 year old niece included ) trains with my club group. She said those people in the ITU only do ITU stuff because they'd have to retrain to get back on a regular tri bike. |
