I want to do it, but I dont have a grand for the entry fee.

I just talked to someone doing it.  It is a $100 entry fee.  When you signup you "commit" to raising money on the order of $1000, but one could come up short I am sure.  Also, you can join a "Peloton".  That is a group that is pooling their fundraising.  There are a lot of groups.

I have at least 2 goups ("Pelotons") I could join which gets my commitment down to just $100 dollars and raising nothing extra.

I spent some time navigating around it.  It was not easy figuring out exactly what was going on (beyond the obvious that it is a bike tour that support cancer research).  I have still not found where it tells us it costs $100, but have been informed by others that that is true.
