Subject: Old fashioned sweetness alive and well in 8th grade boys!
So, today I had one of the cutest moments in my 15 year teaching career.  We gender split our classes so one of my two all boy English classes was about to begin.  The boys were coming in, rowdy as usual, picking up their journals when one young man shyly approached me.  This particular young man is a known "troublemaker"--as labeled by the 7th grade teachers all last year.  He stood right in front of me, looked me in the eyes and said "I brought you something today," and pulls from behind his back an apple.  An honest to goodness apple.  He wasn't being smart, he was absolutely sincere.   He gave me a smile and then went back to being his usual rowdy self.  How cute is that!?

So cute!
Boys that age really can be sweet.  My boys are 15 and 17 and I just love them to pieces!

That's really sweet. Sounds like he may have a crush on his teacher

That was my thought too.

Is it too late for me to go back to 8th grade English?

My son is in the 8th grade this year.  He really can be the sweetest thing sometimes.  Usually he is just a noisy rambunctious "teenage" boy but those sweet times make it worth it.
