Sorta looking for a new project to work on and I've always wanted one of these guys.

I'm not super picky with the starting point. I believe a small frame / large beam or large frame / small beam would work for me (or a size M in the very early 90's ones) rather it be 700c, but 650 isn't a deal breaker.

I'd prefer just the module (frame+brakes)

Anyways, let me know what you've got and what you want.

I know there is a guy selling one locally (craigslist) in Indianapolis.

However, I believe that he is over-valueing his bike because last listing I saw had it at $3,000 with a old set of Zipp Wheels.

Best of luck!

yeah I saw that one. While it does look like a nice bike I think your right about the value thing

I'm not hating though, I wouldn't sell my Planet X for what it's "worth" either haha.

tampafw - 2011-07-08 1:58 PM If you have never had the chance to get next to one with a tape measure I would recommend doing so. Do you run a lot of drop?  I had one of the first one's with the Allsop beam like Welch rode and the drop was insane.  It became even more with the larger sizes once they made the carbon beams.  If you can get one with a threadless that is an option, use an uncut steerer if you run into trouble.  They are bad have fun!

I run quite a bit of drop (23cm saddle > pads)

I'm still not 100% on how they are actually "sized." I've looked at Zipps old catalog which indicates they only made small/large frames and small/large beams, but jhouse and some other's have pointed out there are also mediums (?) I think.

I (plan) to replace the fork with something like an Ouzo Pro (or maybe a Time Bandit if I could source one)

Spudone I saw that one. I'm a bit timid of the Large/Large combo (and the 80's paint job)

Well you did say it was a project so I figure the paint could be customized to anything you want

Not sure what you could do about the beam though.  I linked that one because it had the 700c wheels.
