Subject: First time in the pool...
...since August! Yikes! I just got back from the dentist and the left side of my face is numb. It is raining and gray outside. Swimming is the LAST thing I want to do, but my training schedule says I MUST swim today. So off to the pool I go. I joined a tri club and today is workout day 2. Nothing like peer pressure!

Wow. I wonder what water feels like when your face is numb. At least the pool is inside (right?). Have fun!

Haven't swam since September myself, though I will start again soon, probably with the TI drill sequence. Doesn't look like I'll be tri-ing until June, though.

I'm guessing it doesn't really feel like anything, considering that you are numb and all.  Just sayin'

This is the PERFECT time to learn flip turns.  You run into the wall with your face, no sweat.  You push off sideways into the next lane and take a head-to-head with the aqua-aerobics bobbers, you're cool.  It's a blessing.

i am on a "holiday" and "transition into USC" break. now i get to train at the pools used in the 1984 olympics, at the [big corportation] OLYMPIC (in all standards) pool.... YEAAAYYYY." [i too can be phelps]

...... i was uprised at how many hours they have for open swim. i cant wait to get back into the pool. (which is interesting bc I HATED to swim, and then; i took lessons). i have come to find swimming VERY calming (now that im not trying to not drown), zen, calming, etc.

ROFLMAO...Too bad I hadn't thought of that. That's why I need BT! I have one more trip to the dentist in a few weeks for a night-guard fitting. I'll have to see if the good doctor can shoot me up again.

The swim was AWESOME!! Slow and very ZEN. The pool is outside but it has a retractable roof and wall panels that the club puts on. It was very warm and the water fantastic. It was like riding a bike. (like the pun?) After a few warm up drills, I swam a nice slow, steady pace for 30 minutes. I could tell my upper body strength has diminished though. Other than that, I feel so far ahead of the game than a year ago. Heck, a year ago I wasn't even in the pool yet! Yay me!
