Got a couple of really small bikes knocking around in your garage after your kids grew up?   A few minutes with a wrench and you too can have your very own fundraiser at work!!

A guy that I worked with in the US staged a time trial in the back parking lot at work, using a modified "little bike"

He used to bring this bike to our yearly "company picnic" and it was a trip to watch people ride it.

Yes, the bike is "hinged" in the middle... which makes it very interesting to ride.

Must resist joke about being hinged in the middle.

OK.

So let's see yours. Your bike. Your little bike.

Sadly, I have no special bikes to show.  Storage space is limited here so we only have "what we need."  The guy who built this bike has bikes hanging from his garage ceiling.  And I mean, like, a hundred bikes.  People know he's "into bikes" so they give him bikes.

He was instrumental in setting up a "bike Co-op" at a local city center so that people could maintain their bikes, and have special bike tools and spare parts available at no cost.

He's a very cool dude.

I have questions:

1) Riding past security, how awesome is that?

2) I read a lot in here about bike fitting. Did he have one done?

3) How much time gain from the aero helmet and disc?

4) Is anyone in the race having a bigger smile than that guy?

“Too bad there’s not anything like this for triathletes.” There are a million books and articles on how to train. One of the toughest parts of triathlon training is how to fit them into everyday life.
