Hi Liquigas-Cannondale,

Welcome to the BT Tour De France challenge.

On the roads of France this Italian team is easy to spot with its lime green kit and this year it will be attempting to take cyclist Vincezo Nibali to the top spot in Paris (mmm yelllow jersey and lime green kit :S)

But its not just the yellow jersey but also the green sprinters jersey they may find landing in their team with young sprinter Peter Sagan attending the event for the very first time after winning again and again in the 2012 season to date. His youthful enthusiasm and speed may make him one of the few to take Mark Cavendish on, especially in the first week of racing.

Your team for the BT Challenge is:

abrezo

dalessit

Emmanem

rnihill

strikyr

swimtochina

Hello everyone!This is the only challenge I do all year and its a blast.I'm at a race this weekend so not actually able to watch. Peter Sagan is our man for stage 1. He's a guy that can make it over the hills with plenty left to sprint.

Just wanted to say hello to the rest of the team. This is my first TdF challenge and I am really looking forward to it. I still need to figure out how many stages/miles I can do but I already got started yesterday and will be heading out after TdF stage 1 this morning to get another ride in. I will definitely do my part to give us the best chance in the challenge.

Dalessit good luck with your race this weekend.

Cat thanks for putting the teams together, setting the challenge up and giving me the opportunity to participate.

I'm off shortly to a birthday party but wanted to stop by and say a quick hello!  It's been a while since I've participated in a challenge, but did this one last year and loved it.  Since I end up having to do a lot on the drainer, it's a great way to combine biking and wating the TdF.  I'll check back in later (assuming I survive the heat at this party...) with my goals, etc.

Well I think we are off to a good start with our guy Peter Sagan winning stage 1. I'll take that as a sign of a good omen for us. My goals for the challenge will be 12 stages for 300 miles. I may be able to do a little more mileage but I am trying to be realistic about this as well. I've got two stages in the books already for this past weekend with about 53 total miles logged. So far so good.

Hello all,

We're still out of power here in Virginia so my computer time has been limited.  Keeping fingers crossed for tomorrow.  I'm actually off the bike for a few more days, coach told me to take a couple weeks off.  I switched over to bike racing last year and started to get a bit burnt out so he figured 2 weeks off would give me time to get my act together.  I'll be back on the bike Thursday or Friday starting to get ready for Cyclocross season!

OK, I'finally had a chance to add my goals and update my actuals on the spreadsheet.  A lot of it is based on forcing myself to at least do some easier spins on my bike on my "off" days while watching the day's stage.  Also, a lot is based on the fact that I will be on vacation for the last week of the tour and plan to do most of my commuting to the beach on my bike!

How is everyone else doing?

Rhoda glad to see that you are doing well with the challenge. I have completed 3 of my 12 stages and 80 of the 300 miles I have committed to. I took the day off today but I am planning to ride tomorrow hopefully I can get another 25 to 30 miles in the books. I am off from work this week and next so I am hoping to take advantage of that to get most of my work in those two weeks. I hope everyone had a great 4th of July and is doing well with the challenge.

Glad to hear that you finally got your power restored. There is nothing worse than having an extended power outage it just affects everything that you need to do.

I was able to complete another stage today for 27.5 miles. Man it was hot out there today thank goodness for that wind and those cool breezes. I will get my next one in on Saturday and try to make it a longer ride. I think so far so good in trying to hit my goals for the challenge. I hope everyone else is doing well with the challenge.

Glad to hear you got your power back too!  Lack of power is enough to drive me batty after a while...

I'll be on my way down to the drainer soon...  Hubby and I have a date with our bikes and today's stage.  I just have to finish my blueberry gelato first.  Yum!!

Team standings as of 2pm (EST) Friday - not counting any riders who have no data in their team spreadsheet

Sky = 29.2%

BMC = 25.6%

Omega Pharma = 24.1%

Garmin = 20.9%

Liquigas = 20.3%

Europcar = 8.5% (if I used the correct spreadsheet, they have multiple)

Team Liquigas - you need to get Dale's numbers into the spreadsheet so that the team comparison is meaningful. It looks like Abrezo never checked in and therefor is a non-starter. Do you want to delete this player from your team? Emmanem checked in so she counts against your team average - get her riding!

Hi Breezy I would be alright with dropping anybody who has not yet checked in unless anyone else on the team has any objections to that.

Hey guys we need to make sure we are getting our numbers logged in the spreadsheet. If you haven't had the chance to do that please do that as soon as you can. I am going to get another ride in very shortly but I will probably stay indoors today as it is very hot and humid here with a high heat index. Hope everybody has a great weekend and is able to get some riding done as it looks like we are going to have to play catch up to the other teams.
