Our crew is beginning to form:

I'll update the list as more members join.  All we need are goals, and we'll be set to sail.  Cause we'll be sailing through this challenge, while the other teams sink!

  • jryals – Simi Valley, CA    Goal = TBD

  • ChuckyFinster – LA, CA    Goal = 63,000 yds

Question, Elaine--Any room in the Southwest for a NorCal girl??

If we are strictly being regional, no problem--but let me know. Your team looks a little small.... (o:

Plenty of room!  Hey, the USAT region map has all of CA highlighted for the "SW" region.

Wow. Those are some big goals. Ok, I have 9 definite workouts scheduled, and a couple alternates, but I almost never make the 9--let alone the alternates, so setting the bar at the 9 is pretty big for me. 9 x 2500 =22,500

But then let me kick it up a little and match up with Elaine...

Ok, I'll go for the 26,000. Yikes!!! But I can totally do it, guys! Really! I'm the laziest swimmer I know, but I've got that IM just around the corner. If it looks like I become a totally different person and start doing three workouts a week, I'll revise my goal up. But seriously, 2 a week is big for me!

Oh my goodness! You guys are rock stars! I had 8 workouts scheduled, around 2500 yds each. Let me sign up for 22,000 yards. That will either get me in the pool an extra day or two, or will get me to increase my workout.
Yikes! I haven't been in the pool since September!!

Thanks for organizing us Capt PirateGirl!

We've got a VERY strong team!  Everyone is stepping up, ready to face the challenge.  I know this challenge will be extra motivation for me to stick with the training plan and not back out on my workouts in December, which is usally the month I need the most motivation (holidays, time off from work, etc, making it too easy to make excuses).

Team signups are still open for anyone else out there interested in joining the challenge.

I've come up with a theme song for this challenge, which I have in my signature and will keep there for the month of December.

After thinking about it, I am going to sign up for 60,000 yds!  I wanted to sign up for 63K and try to keep up with Chucky, but I am already pushing it.  Maybe that will be my "unofficial goal"

    Bring on the advil !!!!

MTT are my days, so yes, I'm on. I normally put in 2100-2400, so I'll try to edge it up to 2500 for my regular swim. But that's a solid hour for me. Because I swim in molasses.
