Subject: RE: when is a brick a brick?Hahaha....30 minutes...hmm...maybe alittle too long? =) Purpose of a brick is 1) To allow yourself to get used to the transitions during races. Changing clothes, changing shoes, grabbing caps, sunscreen etc. 2) Allow the body to get used to using different muscle groups in quick succession, ie from swimming to biking, bike to swim. The longer yime you take, you just lose the essence of getting a quick transition as your body recovers and recuperates. You're not going to try and take a 30min break during a race right???  I think a 5 minute transistion is about right. |
