Subject: RE: Need a good ankle docJust to present the opposite side, I had a very bad experience at the resurgeons in Conyers. Not to say that resurgeons is a bad company, but I will never go there again. My wife had a stress fracture on the 4th metatarsal. I knew what it was before we even went to the MD. The doctor xrayed her and didnt see any fractures, but said he thought it just wans't showing up. Told her to take it easy and come back in 2 weeks. We then got a bill for $30 for office visit (ok with me) and abotu $40 for xrays (again ok with me) Two weeks later we went back and he again took xrays. Once again we got $30 for office visit and $40 for xrays (both ok with me). This time, he "sees" a fracture and gives her a boot. Tells her to where it for 3 months and the foot will be fine. Doesn't even schedule a follow up to make sure it is fine Low and behold, we get a $600 bill in the mail for "fracture care." I called and they explaiend to me that whenever they find a fracture they billl for "fracture care" for the simple fact that the MD has to diagnose and determine the best course of treatment. No matter how much I protested or which office manager I went to, they would not back off and threatened to send it to collections if I did not pay it. When the EOB (explanation of benefits) came from my insurance, the MD had billed the "fracture care" as surgery even though there was no surgery. By now we had already paid the bill and the only thing we could do was protest on internet review sites and complain to the Better Business.
