Subject: Bike Pump was stolen

I took my son out to learn to ride his bike this weekend and rode away from the car leaving the standing pump next to it.  Okay - I know I shouldn't be that trusting, but I never expected someone to take it so fast...

It was $40 pump, not top of the line, but nowadays it's going to be hard to replace it immediately.  I only got to use it about 4 times.   *sniff*

I can't figure out how someone can take something like that and not feel bad about it........

Anyway - have you ever had something blatantly stolen from you while you were swimming/biking/running?   Just looking for some commiseration here, I guess.

My B-I-L had a bag of potting soil stolen out of the bed of his truck.......it was opened and half full. THey must have needed it more than him.

That's BS.  If you lived closer I would give you my spare pump just on principal.

I took my dog down to the river several years back so she could swim.  I left her almost new retractable leash (neighborhood of $25) on the shore while we waded/swam out to some rocks.  We were in view the whole time but somehow some worthless piece of doo swiped it.  I never even saw them... I'm pretty sure they were pros.  Oh well... she's still rockin' the old fashion one I bought to replace it.

olliedawg - 2009-05-19 8:28 AM ... I'm pretty sure they were pros.  ....

forgive me - I'm just laughing to myself thinking about the meetig back at HQ for the Professional Dog Leash Theivery society...

as to the OP - sorry about your bike pump.  some people will steal things just to swipe them for no particular reason.  i had an acquietence in high school who thought it was "cool" to steal anything - so this loser has a basement full of "stolen" junk (e.g. squiggies from gas stations).  never forget - we are one evolutionary step from apes.

Thanks for the replies.  I drove home and cursed them, so I feel better now

May all the tires that they try to inflate with it pop immediately - or better yet, may the needle in the gauge somehow break off, shatter its plastic cover and impale their foot.

See, I do feel better, thinking about it........

Someone stole my wet and dirty swimsuit that was hanging in my locker at the gym - classy.

My friend was cleaning his house and set his bike out front for a minute - came back and it was gone! Just be glad it wasn't anything really expensive! People will steal anything - I just wish someone would steal my car I have left it in my parking garage at work for 2 days unlocked (((sigh)))
