I vas' the rims of the running shoes and body glide my feet (pre-swim heavy on the body glide ). Have a small towel in Transition to wipe off sand and grit if need be and then go sock less the entire day.
You will rip up your feet some - just treat them with some TLC and go slow. DON'T GO SOCKLESS ON RACE DAY FOR THE FIRST TIME ..... not speaking from experience but a local racer was talking about it in the bike store a few months ago..... he stopped part way through the 10K and ended up DNF-ing
The biggest two advantages of sockless runs are faster transition times and if you use water to cool yourself your feet don't get that soggy sock feeling!
