So here is the deal. Weigh in last week 292.5 weigh in today 294!!!! WTF. "Well Jason maybe you should start eating better." But I am, I am eating well a good breakfast morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner. Plus I am working out very well look at my log. PLEASE! I am starting to record what and when I eat everything tomorrow. Just so you can get an idea. So the weight went up but waist and hips inches down. Thats good but I want to go away from 300 not towards it!!! HAHA thanks

You are still in early stages of working out.  Inches going down so fat is going away.  But since you are working out  muscle is building.  Muscle weighs more than fat so pounds can go up.  In the long run, this will help your weight because muscle burns more calories than fat does.  Give it some more time for your body to catch up and the pounds will start to drop also.  The inches are more important anyway!

BTW  GOOD GOING!

It could just be the sodium in something you ate causing you to hold more water.  If you like weighing frequently, you could average all the weights for the week and see if the average decreases.   That may help you focus on the big picture!   Best wishes!

I would have to agree with Bronwyn here. Fluid retension is a major factor in the scales. I can vary 7-8lbs over the course of a week, and I know it's fluid. Also, when you are a bigger guy like us the weight variation of a couple of pounds is actually a really small percentage. You will get fluctuations, but I know that when you see a 0.5% to 1.0% swing (at 300lbs) it is cruel and hard to deal with.
Remember that you need to look long-term on this. Check yourself in a couple of months and see the difference.
BTW, keep logging all your exercise and energy consumption, that really helps!

I know I got too concentrated on the actual # instead of how I looked and felt. I feel awesome! Training is going great, and my fiance gave me a hug last night and then turned back around and did it again and said "Its so much easier to hug you now!" Going to see my sister and mother this weekend who I haven't seen since I started training so this will be a better indication than the actual weight. Thanks everyone.

I wouldn't worry about it at this point.  If 3 or 4 weeks go by and you haven't lost, or continue to gain, then we need to look at a few things.

This will be teh test. I bet that they both are amazed at your change. Ignore the scales and guage your performance by their reaction.

All the best.

Do NOT worry about weight.

On one episode of biggest loser, the trainer took a sledgehammer to a scale.  That's the right idea.

Worry about inches, or better yet, body fat if you can measure it.

If you're dropping inches, then you're doing great.

Keep at it, and the pounds will start dropping away later.

Don't be a slave to the scale. Concentrate on eating healthy and exercising. I too am on a journey to lose weight. I began April 12th of this year when I signed up for a sprint tri and joined BT. Since then I am down over 35 lbs. and have done 4 sprint tri's. I'm hoping to lose a total of 100 by sometime next year. Be patient with yourself. Little fluctuations of 1-4 lbs can easily water retention, body fluids, etc.
