Subject: RE: Let Her Go Already......1st tri - 2005-06-19 2:24 AMWhat is really scarry is that I know people that still think it was wrong to remove her tube. Well... I still think it was wrong to remove her feeding tube. From the reports I read about the autopsy, and I haven't read them deeply, Terri was brain damaged but not brain dead. We have a major debate going on now about what constitutes human life and what consitutes human personhood. There is no doubt that Terri was alive when she had her feeding tube removed. The question becomes, was she a person who ought to have been protected by law. This same question is at the heart of embryonic stem cell research. There is no doubt that a human embryo is biologically a human being. The question is whether or not it is a person. The fact that Terri would not have recovered from her injuries is irrelevent. Was she a person? At the very least, I can't prove that she wasn't. See this thread.Edited by dontracy 2005-06-21 3:22 PM
