Subject: RE: nutrition-head rush hours after long hard ridePOSTURAL HYPOTENSION: This type of dizziness, faintness or light-headedness results from a decrease in blood flow to the brain, due to a drop in blood pressure upon standing up. I would think that this would be due to inadequate blood volume: If there isn't enough fluid volume in the blood vessels, then the circulatory reflexes can't restore normal blood pressure. This can happen in any condition which causes dehydration, which may be due to inadequate oral intake. I use compression tights after a long ride or run to help and fluids (water ). You may look at the amount of water you intake during the day, as well as that during your ride and afterwards. Just some thoughts. Michael Edited by mgilliland 2010-03-22 10:09 PM
