anyone have opinions on which satellite radio is better? Amazon is having an electronics sale right now, and I am tempted.... I think I'd want something portable, though, for car use and home gym use...

I have Sirius and love it. It has more commercial free stations than XM.

I have XM only because my brother bought the XM Portable and I got the free Roadie II. Great because its comercial free except for 1 minute every five songs where they push XM radio to their alrady paying customers. Sirrus sounds like its a good deal and I might switch to that because of the extended features such as Howard Strern starting 2006, and more sport coverage. Other than that they are about the same in my opinion.

Also if you are looking for your home entertainment, I think Sirrus is more compatible than Xm and easier to hook up. XM needs to plug into an existing reciever or stero system through RCA Jacks. Sirrus I believe sells the plug in reciever where you just attach your unit to the Sirrus reciever and thats it.

I could be wrong though.

I like XM. You can tune the Roadie II to a certain radio station (that you program in) and it will feed through any radio (as in, even your clock radio).

I think that people who have Sirus (sp?) will say to buy that and people who have XM will tell you to buy XM.

I think they are all portable for car and home use....at least, the Roadie II is. AND, it has memory so you can program a song into it and then any time it's playing on any station, it notifies you!

I am seriously addicted to my XM!!!  I did consider switching to Sirius when they cut the Dave Ramsey show from the full 3 hours to one, but I don't want to buy a whole new receiver.  But I do love XM, and I think you will be fine either way.  You are going to LOVE it.  If you like Bob Edwards, he is only on XM.

i love my XM! the XM kids station is great in the mornings for my kiddos on the way to school, squizz rocks, comedy is funny.

that all being said....probably switching in 2006 bc of Howard Stern.  not sure what the programming is like on Sirius, but i'm sure it's pretty much the same. plus, hey, isn't lance radio on sirius?

I have XM and my business partner has Sirrus.  They are fairly equal, but my month charge is cheaper per month than his.

I don't subscribe to either, but Sirius seems to have way more contemporary folk programming.

I listen to XM all the time. Huge selection of stations and you don't get loads of annoying ads.
