My company brings in HUGE % of all revenues in 3 months. so of course the stock tumbles ehrn the "off-season" is occuring. now that i have been buying stock i can drop it, since it is back up, and make real money!!

edit: dont get me wrong its a blue chip, but i need more growth. its painful the other 9 months of the year!

I don't suppose you're going to mention the ticker symbol so I can buy like crazy at the end of the off season.

FDX

its a small company called FedEx, buy during summer, when gas prices go UP. (even though the cost of fuel doesnt effect their profitability, they surcharge that to the customer; the stock has a slight drop whenever gas goes up. the whole "perception" of investers).

Sell just after Xmas. it spiked just before, look at the 52 week and u will see the pattern.

edit: UPS (not best of breed, but hey) most likely (i havent looked at their numbers) has the SAME or simuler 52 week.

why, anyone who has read a financial statement, or done their stock homework will know ALL of this and more. (i never understand why anyone buys stock without doing any homework; then again thats the reason im so glad to be off loading this stock NOW, all year crying as it fell)

Just a point of information. According to Yahoo Finance FDX is up from about $18 per share 10 years ago. Adjusted for splits and with dividends reinvested, that equates to about a 6-fold return on your money. Also, adjusted for splits and dividend reinvestments it's up from about $39 per  share five years ago, implying a near tripling of your investment since Jan.1 2000. FDX has clobbered the market in almost any time span you look at. Most people don't realize those kind of outsized gains because they don't hang around for them. That's OK, just thought it should be pointed out.

excellent points. the stock will tumble back down my march at which time i will buy it again. (buy low sell high). like i stated in the beginning its a blue chipper, good for long term growth. i PERSONALLY dont like to hold a stock for a year. i like to take advantage of the seasonal and cyclical trends.
