Subject: Hello from MO I've been lurking for a few weeks now and figured that it was time to introduce myself. Back story: In August 2010, I weighed 320 pounds. I was on the verge of every bad health aliment you could think of, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, etc. I knew I had to do something about it. So I started eating better and working out. In October 2011 I was down to 190 pounds and I was able to complete my first 5k. My sister, aka my training partner, mentioned trying a sprint triathlon. At first I was very leery, but after thinking a bit I thought that it was a good goal to set for myself. The one she had in mind wasn't until August. We started training and I started enjoying it. So, I found a different sprint, with shorter distances, this Saturday. So, hopefully, after Saturday I can say that I've completed a sprint tri. Thanks for all of the helpful tips on this site. |
