Finally!  There is now a brand new electric Razor scooter available to buy this Christmas!  Fit kids?  NO WAY!  This scooter now comes with...get this...A SEAT!  Yes, a hot new kid's toy is your grandmother's motorized scooter!  I bet their engineers are working on next year's model already...cupholders will be a must!  Sheesh!

Remember that movie Wall-E?  The entire population obese in hover-chairs?  Yup, it's comin'.

I don't know, it just seems to me more triathletes would find motorized childrens' toys ridiculous.  A motorized (electric) scooter is bad enough with a kid standing on it...but a seat?  Absolutely ridiculous.

I hope these toys have a high weight capacity.

I was absolutely morally opposed to my kids getting any kind of little battery operated cars that people think are so cute. Not just because they are ridiculously expensive for such a short-term usage toy, but because it troubles me to teach them from such an early age to rely on something other than their own power to move.

I get what you're saying. I covered the neighborhood in my spinout 360 and big trike before I could ride a real bicycle. We got a razor regular scooter for our 6 year old. All foot power. If he asks for something with a motor or engine, it will be a stock answer "with your driver's license."

That will eventually lead to this.

Yo Claaaw and IowaMan, that was what I was getting at.  We've got a razor scooter in the garage too...no motor...no seat.  Balance and leg power...along with a change of pace from the bike.  Nifty little toy it is.

I agree. My 6 year old has an original Razor and he rides it with me while I jog once in a while. He has to use leg power and balance the entire time. If we go 3 to 5 miles, its a great workout for him. I don't see why any parent would buy that for there kids instead of having them use leg power and balance. I gets harder and harder tp get this younger generation to exercise with video games. Stop putting motors on toys that require physical activity. IMO

My 8-yr old just got a new Razor Scooter for Hanukkah. It shoots sparks out the back, according to the box. Hopefully it won't lead to modifying hot rods and drag racing with Asian gang members. I saw Fast and Furious, and I know where that leads.
