Besides my birthday.  I hate it when murders go unsolved, when people are all around the area.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2013/01/10/ray-lewis-baltimore-ravens-atlanta-murder-2000/1566198/

Was this just shoddy work by the prosecutors office?  Did money talk?  Would it have been different if the guys would have been a different color?   A different race, different ethnicity, religoun.....whatever  I hope you know what I mean.

Suprise, No Gun involved.

Knives are very up close and personal.  Intent is definite.....  Discuss politely?

And no I'm not a Raven Hater or anti Ray Lewis (Very good Linebacker).   But I can understand one person getting knifed and having a mortal wound, but two people....  Not like people did not see what happened.

Trying to find more in depth info on this event.  Also wiki said that the white suit that Ray wore was never found...?

Yeah, Ray Lewis, if not guilty himself, carries the secret about these murders. I always had disdain for him because of this.

I am a life-long Steeler fan, so I realize the rivalry clouds my opinion on what his legacy is. But, I recently read a well written article how Ben Roelisberger also likely committed a terrible crime and plea bargained his way to a mere inconvenience. After reading that, I can now accept that a young man who once abused their privileged station in life can re-envigorate their legacy.

But, I still hope the purple crows end up as road kill this weekend!

There's not much to say. Ray did get a deal. He did testify against the two charged. The two charged were aquitted. I mean if they were found guilty, well... maybe Ray paid his way out of prison. But those two were aquitted. Bottom line is two people died, nobody knows the whole story, and no body went to jail.

The world is not a fair place. Sometimes money can help you get out of trouble or away with murder. OJ!

I am an admitted Browns fan, so my hatred of the Ravens goes deeper than Pitt's, but not only did Ray plead to a lesser crime, but he also told a completely unexpected story on the stand. That is probably the shoddy prosecution part. They didn't get a complete understanding of what Ray Ray was going to testify to before signing the deal.

A couple other things about the night. Ray ran through the lobby of the hotel he was staying naked. As mentioned before, the white suit he was wearing has never been found. One of his entourage was allowed to board a flight to LA the following morning without being detained by the police. Ray knows what happened. I think it is pretty disgusting how they talk about Ray being such a changed man, but very rarely bring up what brought about his sudden change.

A fellow Clowns fan!

I read an article that Lewis paid a settlement to the family of one of the victims.  This was an old article in the Cleveland Plain Dealer that they re-ran a couple of days ago.

If you dope in cycling you are lambasted.  If you dope, murder, or abuse dogs in the NFL you still have a shot at player of the year and Hall of Fame honors.

Another interesting tidbit: Ray Lewis' two friends both purchased knives at the sporting goods store where he made a signing appearance just the day before the murders.

Well then you will love this... a notorious murder here 12 years ago on Valentines Day... two teenagers got out of a car and executed two boys... like 8-10... with a shotgun. The DA prosecuted them separately, but could not prove who pulled the trigger. They both got "accomplice" and sentenced to 12 years. Now one guy is out, he is a changed man, and want to help his community. He is running for City Council. There isn't an exact rule in the City Charter that you can't be a convicted murderer.Undecided
