Subject: I thnk I finally understand fastbook depression

I was on facebook the other day look at my friend's posts.  I see a post from a friend basically saying if you work at Mcdonalds you are a loser that leaches off people and are over paid.  The same person said if you lose any job you should apply next day to mcdonalds otherwise you are a loser that leaches off people.

I can see why if you value this person and you find yourself in the situation how depressing it can be.

Not sure I see how having a job (of any sort) makes you a loser and leaching off of people?  McDonald's EE's being overpaid?  That's a first.

Well it was part of the just say no to increase min wage.  It was they should get less not more.

I know some people who just struggle and can not seem to get a break.  I do think its funny people I know who are most against it are the best would probably more benefit from it.  People who make a little more than min wage who probably get a bump up with it.

Increasing minimum wage is the fastest way to erode the middle class so it is very odd that a President who touts himself as the savior of the middle class is championing this as a major goal.

As for your friend's comment that those who receive unemployment are leaches, your friend doesn't know what he is talking about. Unemployment Insurance is a mandated insurance program funded by employers. So unless your friend owns a business, not one dime of money came out of his pocket to to pay the unemployment claim.

The point of MW is for a worker to be able to feed, cloth and house themselves with a full time job on that wage without assistance.  Not buy flat screen tv's or iPods.  Just the basics.  Today it's $15,600.  That can't really be done these days.  I would agree that minimum wage increase by itself, does erode the middle class, but when supplemented with education, training, and teaching skills, actually helps to strengthen the middle class.

The question, IMO is where is all the money going to come from?  You can't save every baby seal.

This was my first thought. How is someone who works for a living a leech?

I guess some people will put down anyone.

yeah.  I guess its too easy to see see a picture that says something close to your views and just hit share without really reading or understanding what it is saying and how people will feel about it.

Funny thing is the girl posted it makes about $3 more an hour than min wage.

What's fastbook?

Man, am I behind on all this social media stuff.  I'm only just getting used to the Facebook and the Twitter and the YouTube and the Yelp.

I hope you realize that Facebook is just a depository of random crap that spews from people's mouth, right?  Just a lot of noise?

Oh, and a place to put pictures of their cats and kids - and the occasional drunk night out duck face pick...  NTTAWWT
