Have an old Dell I use in the trainer room, hooked to a Samsung flatscreen with HDMI.  Was working fine.  Suddenly, I get a "No Signal" message on the TV screen, and a "check Signal Cable" when it's unplugged.  So it's seeing the hookup, just not any date.

I restarted the computer and it worked for a few minutes, unplugged the HDMI, replugged it, again, No Signal.  Changed HDMI cables.  Changed ports on TV.  CHecked the source on the TV

Any help?  Odd that it was working fine, then all of a sudden not working at all.......

Uninstall and reinstall drivers. Might be video card too. You got another puter to try and make sure it's not the monitor?

Might be video card too.

^^^

Video card is the most likely component in the system to overheat.

Motherboard is the next potential culprit.

OTher laptop works, dell does not.  It's an old POS dell laptop that has failed in many ways, but thought it might be good for a trainer dedicated use

I know sometimes the Dell's get funky with the external monitor toggle.  Does it do anything if you hit the Fn F4 (or whatever the button is) to toggle external/internal display?

If it is an old POS Dell, chances are the video card/port (most likely) or the the video slot on the motherboard for the video card has gone kaput.
