Subject: Big Brother This is very disconcerting. On my iPhone I had a notification about my photos. When I opened it I saw dozens of pictures I had taken that were of various hikes I had been on. A montage/slide show of hiking photos then played. I did not initiate any of this.
Evidently iPhone has a routine to look through my personal photos, scan my photos to determine which ones were hiking related. They went back several years. Now that I’m thinking about it, it included my Jeep off roading pictures in the collection. So it looked at where the photo was taken. The Jeep pictures were in an offroading “park”. If it was taken in the Great Smokey Mountains some at a park in TN, some at parks in Seattle. Ironically, my biggest hiking adventure was in Nepal on an Everest Base Camp hike but it did not include those photos. Of course, that was not in a “park”.
If Apple can scan your photos and compile by location I guess they could tag photos taken in bars, political rallies, places of ill repute, your bedroom....
If they can do this with my photos, what else might “they” be looking at? PMs, text messages, browsing history? Guess they already do the browsing history. Search for something on the internet and the next day you are bombarded with ads for the item on FB.

It gets deeper. If you do a search of your photos of “dog” for example it will pull all photos with a dog in it. This means they aren’t just looking at location but at the content of the photos! Edited by Rogillio 2020-07-22 7:58 AM
