Subject: RE: Lakes north of Detroit to practice inThree good suggestions already made. Stony creek has a 100m swim area; you just do laps back and forth. Brown Trout Lake (at Island Lake) is 1/4 mile across; however, you can swim the perimeter (about 20-50 ft from shore) and be in clear water yet able to touch most of the way around. It's a little less than a mile all the way around, and a great swim. And since you can touch most of the way, it's a little lower risk. But watch out for the brown trout. Never swum Holly, so that's new to me. Sounds cool, though. |
