If you're referring to Repair Stand, then I recomend this one made by Minoura : http://www.trisports.com/mirsxrest.html
I bought it at Nashbar 2 years ago for $39 and it's worked perfectly for me.

If you're referring to Storage stand I've seen this one used and it appears to be a good bang for the buck: http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=6000118&subcategory=60001132&brand=&sku=11694&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=Shop%20by%20Subcat%3A%20Storage%20Racks

I have the Minoura and it is more trouble than it is worth so I do not use it.  Get any kind of bike stand that has the universal clamp, which will hold the bike by either the downtube or the top tube.  See the following for a pic of type of stand I am talking about:

If it's the same one that I have I don't see how it's any trouble.  BB sits on base, fork mounts to QR.  I don't have to worry about clamping my sensitive carbon tubes OR having the bike slip and slide when making repairs.  The clamp style repair stands have always given me a headache, including one tip over where it damaged one of my older bikes.

I got the pulley and rope thing hanging in my garage. Keeps the bike up and out of the way and it doubles nicely as a work stand.

Being an apartment guy, last thing I need is another piece of gear to take up space. My yakima hitch rack works incredibly well - just take a little polyprop to cover the bumper & trunk, and spatter the HELL out of your parking lot.

The front or back wheel of my tire slides nicely between teh pipes on teh radiator. makes an attractive bike stand without taking up extra room in the house.

For 2 of my other bikes, I use a rembrandt lean against teh wall stand that looks great, and takes up a very small footprint...smaller than having bikes around.

I am going to buy a 2nd one to put on a facing wall for my road & cross bike, and the other will be for my mountain and singlespeed.

Until I buy a house then, I'm out of space for new bikes!

At one point I had two cam shafts holding up my bike. That reminds me... anybody want to buy 2 stock 03 Evo8 cam shafts? They'll arrive in HKS boxes....

I just use my trainer, it works for about 90% of situations. My difficulty now is that I have more than one bike, and need another 'storage' stand. The LBS has some for about $15 tho, and I may pick one up.
