Subject: indoor bike question- help
I'm considering buying a trainer for my bike [at least i hope that's what it's called. it's what transforms an outside bike to an indoor bike]. okay- so i will call this contraption a "trainer" for my purposes.

So, i have both a MTB and a Raleigh international road bike.... any suggestions of brands or what to look for or how much to pay or where to get it?

AND once i have purchased one, can i easily interchange my bikes [MTB & road] on it?

thanks all! :-)

Milly

hi Milly,

That's the link which will show you the updated version of the trainer I have. Mine's a few years old and still works as advertised. I think it does say that it works best with slick tires, so you might want to look at a different model. But yes, it is a trainer that you want to buy.

I have a Tacx CycleForce One which is awesome. Tacx generally makes good trainers - anyone that I have talked to loves theirs. Mine can take a mountain bike, given slick tires are on. Be wary of some cheaper trainers that are difficult to spin on - you want to get a wide range of resistances on it. I had a problem with my first trainer in that I couldn't get the resistance low enough and this was killing my legs.
In Canada you can get the basic Tacx model for about $199 Can.
Good luck
