I registered. are you doing this? going to hit Lake Wilderness this weekend for a swim, not exactly OWS, but i'll have to at least deal with the "creepy water" factor.

Yes I am!! I usually swim at Seward Park. It's a great place for brick workouts.

Hi! I was one of the lucky ones able to register for Danskin, too.

I grew up in Maple Valley and am VERY familiar with Lake Wilderness...but are you swimming in it in these temps? Wow! I sure need to up my game.

Please let me know if either of you do a trial run in Lake Washington.

Hi - totally open to a lake Washington swim - so we could coordinate. Lynne - is this something you might be interested in? or any other PNW'ers?

I have a "regular" wet suit, so we'll see how that works until i get my tri wetsuit. Going to try it this coming weekend in lake wilderness - brrrr.

What area do you live in now? Are you in a Mentor group on the site - the one i'm in is still open - CatctusTriathlete, if you're interested.

Karen

We should get a big bunch of us together for a Lake Washington swim.  How about after I get back from Scotland which will be in late April, early May.  I have 2 friends doing this with me this time around.   Safety in numbers and all that

Me too. I have this unsupported idea that milfoil and fish can't get me if there are other people around! :-)

Well where I swim the milfoil is cut down - It's also the same place for Seafair.  With me you will overcome the power of milfoil.

howdy all - Just was browsing graigslist in seattle and noticed a few posts in there under "triathlon" for registration for the danskin tri. (Is is already full? WOW! That was fast). Anyway, since I noticed it, and saw this thread, I thought I'd let y'all know in case you knew of someone looking to give up a bib #. just go to craigslist for seattle and type in triathlon. very recent posts.
Enjoy it!

i'm registered for danskin '08 can't wait can't wait can't wait!! doing it with a friend, but i really want to coordinate with you all for a big bt-ows in lake washington, it'd be perfect. soon as lynne gets back from scotland.
i'm doing a couple of elma tri's to get amped up for the season, doing the one on april 13th and another on may 10th. just to kind of get ready. then i'm open for the rest of the season until danskin. i'd love to try a trail run or something, i've never done one. i know leslie does that sort of thing.
ANYWAY, when you get together for an OWS let me know, i'm in

I'm not doing Danskin this year but am happy to meet up for OWS or whatever.  As Lynne knows, I have access to some sweet lakefront over here on the east side!   However, I travel for swims or runs or whatever!  There's a trail run here in Sammamish on March 30 and I think another the end of April if anyone is wanting to come to that.  I am going to look into those Elma tris, although it's a long drive from here!

it IS kind of a long drive, but they're fun races. all flat, all out and back, pretty small too, when i did it last sept, i think there were only 80-some odd people there. kind of nice to have it be so small.

I don't mind driving to it. It starts later than most tri's. I just figured it would be nice to get out of dodge for a bit and it would be cool to try and alternate places to swim. I know the place in Seward Park is a hot spot for Danskin participants.

the swim area in elma is KINDA nasty. i was standing in about waist deep water, and i couldn't see the bottom. maybe i'm just spoiled being up here in this big clean DEEP lake.
it's warmer than a lot of open water though since it's so teeny
