I want to regiester for a sprint in the middle of April. I have started a running program and have seen success, but I will not be able to start swimming or biking until next week....9 weeks before the sprint. I'm 23 in good health and good shape. But this is my first triathlon...am I setting myself up for failure or is 9 weeks enough time to train?
-I'm a good biker
-ok swimmer

If you are in pretty good shape and are good in the bike and swim and just want to complete the triathlon you should be fine. Even if you aren't totally where you want for the run you can walk some of it.

It's all about expectations. If you treat it as a learning experience and don't worry about your times, I'm sure you can finish and have fun. Just get your feet wet and get a feel for it. Good luck.

I'd say if you are a successful runner, a good biker and an ok swimmer, you're already ahead of the game.  Even if you're rusty  at the bike and swim, if you have a history of both sports 9 weeks is a decent amount of time to remind your muscles what to do and complete the race.
