Subject: Creating custom training plans - Selecting distance units

I've downloaded the import .CSV file and have used it to create a custom training plan.  For the run (and the bike when I add it), I'd like to use miles as the distance.  I didn't really know how to select that, so I just went straight down the column for each day and put in the number of miles I plan to run.  When I upload the plan, the first day is in miles, the rest is in km  NM - see below editHow can I set it up so that everthing is in miles?  Rephrased:  how do I get it to NOT convert the number I input from km to miles?  Thanks!

EDIT TO ADD:  In the planned training view, it does show that the units are in miles, except that it has taken the number I have input and converted it from km to miles.  So for a day I plan to run 5 miles, it's listed in my log as 3.11 miles.

Dave,

The Run Units value needs to be specifed as 'Miles'  on each line in the file. We store all distances under the hood as KM, and use the specified 'units' value to do the conversion. With no specified 'Run Units' value it's using the default of kms.

Just enter the string 'miles' after the run distance and import it again.

I just imported a new training plan and am having the same issue noted below (the units show as miles in the Planned Calendar but a 5 is converted to 3.11 example). I did list 'Miles' in the Run Units column next to each day that I included a Run Distance but I'm not having the same luck as the previous poster is this being a solution unfortunately?

Also, in the main Training Plans Blog page, the 'Planned Training' area on the left sidebar shows the distances as kms instead of miles? Any ideas on that one too?

Thanks very much!

jay,

I'm guessing that the import file has a format issue. If you specified 'miles' (plural) rather than 'mile' (sing.) as the run unit it wouldn't have been recognized so the default of km would be used.

Try confirming that the import file uses the string 'mile', then import it again and let me know what happens.
