Subject: Cannondale Ironman 2000 ,year 2003
Have a lead on a bike, would be my first tri bike and fits my budget. Obviously, fit it the most important thing but if the bike fits, what are peoples' thoughts on the bike and cost?

The cost is $850 before haggling and it appears the owner has made a few upgrades in some components. Owner also state it has been lovingly cared for and serviced professionally.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sounds like a decent deal to me.  I'm riding the 2004 version which is pretty much the exact same.  I bought it brand new so this will be my 5th year on it and I have zero complaints.  If it fits you and you like the way it handles, I'd say go for it!

Edited to add that I paid just a touch over 2 grand for it new, so the price sounds fair.
