Hey all!

I'm 38 and after about 8 years of relative inactivity I finally got back into the gym about 6 months ago and began training again. After loosing 42Lbs and seeing a vast improvement in my level of fitness, a few weeks ago I decided to train for triathlon (something I have wanted to do for years) but my question is how do I avoid overtraining!

You know what it's like, the enthusiasm is flowing but does anyone have any advice on training for someone who is just above average fit but wants to train specifically for triathlon without falling into the overtraining trap.

Any links or tips would really be appreciated.

Thanks

When in doubt, start at the beginning. Go to the home page and pick out the couch to sprint training schedule. Do NOT push yourself by going overboard or beyond your fitness level. And, of course, have a good time...that is the most important. Welcome aboard!

"Hello. My name is Peter. I am 40 and I am a couch potato."

Finding this site was the BEST thing that ever happened to me. I love the positive energy here. Someone here is always ready to boost my spirits when I am feeling low about my workout, health, whatever. I hope you take away from here what I have in only a few weeks.

Tri Life. Enjoy the ride.
