                    ![]() Run
Comments: Good run - my pace was a little fast to start. I enjoyed seeing that 4:55 min/km. I know better than to go out that fast, but... Overall the run was exactly what I was hoping for. Age group ranking is based on gun time not chip time. Somewhat unfair but I move up 11 places... What would you do differently?: Run this race more regularly (each year) so as to remember the course better. Train more for hills. Considering how hard I trained for a running race, I'm very pleased. This is probably a PR for the last 10 years! ![]() Post race
Warm down: walked around looking for the rest of my group. Stretched while standing up. Nearby grass at old City Hall covered in cigarette butts - I'm not going to lie down in that! What limited your ability to perform faster: I was basing my ability to finish this race on my cross-training skills. I haven't actually run 10K outside. If I want to do better, I need more running outside beyond the 10K distance! Event comments: Volunteers were excellent. Well organized for such a big race. Excellent entertainment on the course - belly dancers, salsa dancers, drummers, Dixieland band. Last updated: 2008-03-14 12:00 AM

woke up, showered, attempted to eat a bagel w/ peanut butter. I don't enjoy having breakfast that early. Get used to it. Drove to C-train station and took free transit to downtown start. Given that there were 14000 participants it was amazingly easy to find a bathroom.
Goodlife Fitness put on a great hiphop aerobics warmup, although I just warmed up on my own. I don't have any experience with hiphop, didn't want to try anything new! high energy music was great. Didn't do much else - wanted to conserve energy for the race.
