I need a weight loss challenge....um...NOW!!!

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Hi everyone, I am sick and tired of the weight I'm at but I can't seem to get back into the habit of counting calories to drop the additional 40 lbs I need to lose. I have 3 months until my first Sprint and about 3 1/2 months until my first Oly. I would LOVE to be at my goal weight by the Oly. I need some motivation to do this and having a challenge with other people is a great way for me to get motivated. Anyone want to start a weight loss challenge beginning June 1st? |

By that, I mean that I want to check by bodyfat % and then get to under 14%, 12%, or 10%. I've never done that before and this will give me an accurate measure of how much muscle I lose along the way. Frankly, I'm afraid to find out what % of bodyfat I'm at right now. Whatever you decide, I'd love to join in. I have an Olympic in late July and I hope to be down about 12 pounds from now until then. I'd also like to do a 1/2 or full marathon this fall and it would be alot easier with out the extra weight. |

I have taken some "rules" from another challenge I am in beginning June 1st and I have motified them for our purposes: The challenge will begin June 1 and will end June 30th. Should there be enough interest to continue through July (or beyond) it will be determined at the end of the month. At the end of the month the winner(s) will display a signature line: "I won the June Weight Loss Challenge!" Everyone else will display an avatar of something that SHOULD have motivated you to lose the weight - a bikini photo, etc. They will also display in their signature line: "I may not have won the June weight loss challenge but I did lose XX lbs (or % body fat)." Avatars and signature lines will be displayed for the month of July. After that, it's your choice whether to leave it, or remove it. Each person will pick a goal - weight loss or body fat percentage - to reach by June 30th. The person closest to their goal is the winner. If you achieve and successfully maintain 100% of your goal before the month is over, you are an automatic winner but others can join you in the winner's circle (i.e. there isn't necessarily one winner). Each Sunday results should be posted to this thread. Posting days are June 1 (initial weight or % body fat), June 8, 15, 22 and 29. Results will be posted on Monday, June 30th. Smack talking: -- Smack talking is not mandatory, but may be done. -- Smack talk is different from a personal attack. If you aren’t sure what the difference is, err on the side of caution and do not post the comment. (Keep in mind that real people are reading your comments!) -- Smack talking is not to be taken personally. If you get upset about a post, ignore it and move on. -- If you find a post offensive, and cannot simply ignore it: Walk away from the computer until you feel better, OR better yet, go for a good workout. A hard workout does wonders for your perspective. The ultimate goal of this Challenge is to get our bodies in a more healthy state, to meet fellow BTers (virtually or otherwise), and to have some fun!
