Comments: Wanted to finish in under 30 minutes, which I did in spades. Had a ton of fun and was inspired by folks who looked as normal as me lining up for the 1/2 mary. What would you do differently?: Find the damn start the night before when I'm in a city I don't know well. Post race

Spent the night in a local hotel, nervous. First race ever. Directions from Riverside runner's not too clear, and asking the locals for help was even worse... we got wicked lost trying to find the race. That morning we left the hotel with 1 hour to drive the 5 miles to the start, and we completely gave up trying to find the race 55 minutes later, after arguing with each other quite a bit rife with frustration. "Pluck it! We're going back home." Took a turn to try and find my way back to the hotel and "whats that?" - happened upon the parking lot. We parked, got our numbers, made our way to the start, heard the last 3 words of the pre-race briefing, then started.
Adrenaline pumping from being soo pissed off for almost missing the start.
